DNS Configuration Tips

Optimised for Mobile Devices

The panel is optimised for mobile devices, so you're able to use our platform while on the move.

Record Synchronisation

The name servers synchronise and publish new/updated/deleted records every 60 seconds, so wait at least a minute before notifying other services to check for changes.

Naked domain alias '@'

At this point in time, the panel does not support the '@' naked domain alias, so enter the full naked domain when intending to point to it.

Example for adding 'www' CNAME:

What type of record? [ CNAME ]
Name: [ www ] .domain.name
Time to Live: [ 5m ]
Value: [ domain.name ]

SPF Records

When adding an 'SPF' resource record, the system adds both a 'TXT' and 'SPF' resource record, even though the 'SPF' resource record type has been deprecated. We still support it, given that there is always a lag in the adoption of outgoing standards.

It's always advisable to add SPF records at this point in time, given that its adoption is accelerating. It's one of the most effective anti-spam mechanisms. Be sure to use the "include" mechanism for any service which uses the domain in outbound mail, such as MailChimp mailing lists. Visit the SPF syntax page for more information: http://www.openspf.org/SPF_Record_Syntax

Migrating DNS Linked Services

When migrating DNS linked services, like email, note the current TTL value and stall the migration until that time period has lapsed. This mitigates the effects of DNS resolver caching.
